#109 Sandy Shores Condos [1]
Horrible Customer Service
Reviewed on 2024-08-10 by , West Des Moines, IA United StatesWe were scheduled arrive for our stay the day a hurricane was also arriving in Madeira Beach. We contacted SunHost as the storm brewed, to cancel as all flights were cancelled and they were not rebooking anything arriving to Florida. The roads were flooded and airports closed. We informed them of our issues (when they eventually answered the phones because their roads were flooded and they couldn’t get to the building) and asked to rebook for another week that was open. We didn’t purchase the trip insurance (our bad). We were told no and that we also would not be receiving a refund at all. Then they call us to TELL us they were moving us to another building because our condo was flooded; keep in mind this is AFTER we told them we can’t make it because the airport is closed and the road is closed to get there. We reminded them again that it is impossible to get there. Yes, we used the Force Majeure Clause, Act of God Clause... still not a chance of rebooking or refunding. They were incredibly rude and unprofessional. We were reminded several times that we should have gotten the trip insurance. As a host, I would be horrified to know my future guests were treated this way. I hope the owners are aware of this. We have no idea what the inside of this property looks like, as we stayed in a different unit previously. Hopefully the money we lost for the week will be used to help repair their flooded condo that we wouldn’t have been able to stay in. Do yourself a favor and stay away from SunHost.

This unit is a large 2 bedroom with all tile floors. It was clean upon arrival and everything worked as it should. You could "nitpick" and point out things that are not perfect like some scratches in the walls and some moulding that is not perfect but it is a heavy used rental. The balcony is nice but faces another building so if you want a view this isnt for you. The location id perfect and you really dont need a car
h

Renamed Sandy Floors- remember your gate, elevator, pool ,room code
Reviewed on 2023-10-16 by , Coal Valley, IL United StatesWhen entering room- air was stuffy, turns out AC didn’t work, thus the large, very dirty stand fans. Repairman called- entered room while we were on the beach. Next day, tech coming to do a quote for owner. Next day bug man entered room. Water heater n spare bathroom did not heat long enough for a woman to shower, wash hair, rinse hair, and shave legs.Floor was filthy, our feet were black. Huge hair/dust ball under master bed, pretty disgusting! There was no coffee maker but there was a one cup kuerig ! We didn’t buy that kind of coffee! Some dishes were dirty and sticky in cabinet! Too many security codes to remember EVERY time, elevator, stairway, pool access, beach access! No closet or hooks in master bedroom to hang clothes. Stairway was dirty and smelled. Tried to reserve room at a different location and was told date was blocked out for priority guests!!! Seems my 4th year renting does not make me a priority guest! Very disappointed that this is the rule or normal way to treat returning guests that only can stay one week.

Nice stay with a few suggestions to the owner
Reviewed on 2022-07-24 by , Wesley Chapel, FL USP.S. the elevator situation is a joke. Only one elevator for that building is ridiculous.
Really enjoyed our stay, but a few suggestions. First of all the 6 inch threshold going out to the balcony needs to be removed! After you kick it the first time you don’t want to do it again, but when you stay there for 5 days it’s inevitable. I thought I broke my toe. My wife stumbled over it twice and my kids a few times. Someone could fall and break a limb. Another suggestion would be to get more lighting in the living area and the main bedroom. The second bedroom needs curtains or blinds because at sunrise the sun is in your eyes. Also I live in Florida and love to come into my house in the summer and crank my AC down after sweating profusely in the summer, but there is a sign over the AC that states if you turn the thermostat under 72 degrees that the unit will freeze over and the earliest an AC tech could come would be 24 hours. Your either trying to save money if your electricity or you need to get a new AC. Lastly the fan on the porch does not work properly. Now the good. Great location and very spacious unit. It was very well decorated, with the exception of the dirty seat cushions on the balcony. Kitchen was very nice with lots of room and all the needed kitchen tools for cooking. One kitchen suggestion would be to get an electric can opener or a new one. The 5$ can opener in the silverware tray isn’t cutting it.

P.S. the elevator situation is a joke. Only one elevator for that building is ridiculous.

Good spot
Reviewed on 2022-07-01 by Rodney L. , Jacksonville, FL United Statesbathroom. Floors felt sandy and the side of the bed in the guest bedroom was dusty. Biggest complaint is that you can hear everything outside of the room. Any movement in the room above, any conversation in the hallways can all be heard. The pool was nice and clean and warm. Great access to the beach. I would rent this again.
Overall it’s a great deal to be on the beach. Condo was clean and instructions were clear for checking in and getting into the pool and onto the beach. Hallway bathroom had no water pressure in the sink, as well as the water that did come out was only hot, so we had to share the master
bathroom.
