English progressive rock band King Crimson makes their way to Clearwater for their Ruth Eckerd Hall debut while celebrating over 50 years of enduring music. King Crimson was formed in London in 1968 and have been influential on both the early 1970s progressive rock movement and many contemporary artists. The band came to prominence after supporting The Rolling Stones at Hyde Park. Their ground-breaking debut In The Court Of The Crimson King (1969) described by The Who’s Pete Townshend as "an uncanny masterpiece", began a career that has spanned five decades and influenced many bands and individuals including Yes, Genesis, Tool, and Rush.
